Joon I. Kim has over 15 years of experience in Democratic politics and currently serves as Senior Vice President at New Partners. At New Partners, Joon has worked with clients to integrate grassroots campaign strategy with digital strategy to move people from likes and followers to in person actions. Clients have included the Australian Labor Party, the AFL-CIO, AFSCME, Sierra Club and numerous other campaigns.

Prior to joining New Partners, Joon coordinated fourteen independent expenditure campaigns in six states winning seven races for the Communications Workers of America, the AFL-CIO, The Blue Green Alliance, Natural Resources Defense Council, Sierra Club, VoteVets Action Fund, The American Worker Project. His campaigns involved utilizing digital advertising and organizing with traditional direct mail, TV, radio, and voter turnout programs.

Joon’s expertise lies in designing, managing and implementing sophisticated campaigns that combine digital, grassroots field operations, turnout programs and vote-by-mail programs. He has extensive experience in voter identification, targeting, coalition building, digital and grassroots organizing. Joon has advised campaigns in Australia, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Joon began his political career immediately after graduating from the University of Maryland in 2000 and is finishing up his Masters in Government from Johns Hopkins.
