Gayle Isa is a Los Angeles native who recently returned from the east coast. She is the founder and former Executive Director of Asian Arts Initiative, a multi-disciplinary arts center in Philadelphia where she focused on cross-cultural dialogue, storytelling, and community building. Her grants experience includes many years of advocacy for equitable funding, and service on boards of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, the Philadelphia Cultural Fund, and a local family foundation.

She first had a chance to develop her social justice analysis as a teenager attending a 6-week summer youth leadership program which provided her with exposure and a commitment to working with people with different lived experiences and cultures.
