The Filipino Migrant Center (FMC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2010 to address the needs of Filipinos in the South Bay cities of Southern California and has since expanded to serve throughout the entire region. It is a Filipino immigrant-led organization that aims to educate, organize, and mobilize low-income, working class Filipino families. The Filipino community has been one of the most impacted by COVID-19, especially low-wage workers in the healthcare, domestic work, food, and grocery service sector. In April 2020, the Filipino Migrant Center (FMC) launched the Bayanihan Community Response (BCR) Program across Southern California to provide education, financial and food resources, and direct services to hundreds of low-income families affected by the pandemic.
